Kattenoppasser in Rotterdam

Hoi! Ik ben Lisa, een 27-jarige, recentelijk gediplomeerde anesthesiemedewerker in het Erasmus MC en het Sophia Kinderziekenhuis. Hiervoor ben ik werkzaam geweest in een diabeteskliniek voor kinderen, en heb ik een aantal andere tijdelijke banen in de zorg gehad (verpleeghuizen, ziekenhuizen etc.). Als kind heb ik altijd al een speciale band gehad met verschillende dieren en heb er dan ook veel van geleerd, met op de eerste plaats het belang van 'geduld'. Ik ben opgegroeid met 2 katten, en heb sindsdien ook altijd katten in huis gehad. Een prioriteit van mij was dan ook om 2 katten te adopteren toen ik net het huis uit was. Dit hebben mijn vriend en ik dan ook gedaan in 2016 vanuit Stichting Zwerfkatten. Wij willen alleen het beste voor onze 2 kattenkinders, genaamd Pippa en Gigi. Sinds maart 2021 hebben we er zelfs een derde bij: Moos! Moos is verwaarloosd bij ons aan komen wandelen, en hebben haar dan ook met liefde opgevangen nadat zij een aantal dagen bleef terugkeren, ze had haar eigen huisje uitgezocht. Inmiddels zijn zij, Pippa en Gigi de beste vriendinnetjes en is Moos weer helemaal gezond en gelukkig. Door het hebben van 3 poezenkindjes hebben wij ook gemerkt dat we het lastig vinden een goede oppas te vinden tijdens vakanties. Dit is dan ook de reden geweest om mij in te schrijven bij Cat in a Flat. Dat wij het beste willen voor onze eigen katten, geldt precies hetzelfde voor die van een ander. Ik heb een groot verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel tegenover de katten én u als baasje. Ik ben simpelweg gek op deze eigenwijze, unieke dieren, en in mijn ogen verdient elk dier het beste. Ik laat dieren, en zeker katten, altijd op mij af komen in plaats van achter ze aan zitten, en heb veel ervaring met bange katten. Onze Pippa was er namelijk zelf een, en met behulp van kattengedragstherapie en mijn eigen verdieping hierin is zij nu helemaal in haar element en verstopt ze zich niet meer.

Mocht u op zoek zijn naar een oppas voor uw kat(ten), dan maak ik graag eerst van te voren kennis met u en uw huisdier zodat u met een gerust hart kan genieten van uw vakantie (waarin u uiteraard iedere dag een update over uw huisdier zal ontvangen, mits anders gewenst).

Before this I worked in a diabetes clinic for kids, as well as a couple of other temporary jobs in health care (nursery homes, hospitals etc). As a kid I already had a special relationship with all kinds of animals, they taught me a lot over the years with in the first place to have (a lot of) patience. I grew up with 2 cats and have had cats around ever since. A priority of mine was to adopt my first two own cats as soon as I moved out, and so this is what my boyfriend and I actually did in 2016 from a shelter for stray cats, 2 girls called Pippa and Gigi. In march 2021 we even adopted a third kitty: Moos! Moos suddenly presented herself on our doormat for a few days in a row, completely malnourished and with a poor, smelly, completely matted fur coat, so we decided to take her in (following the right procedures of course) and give her everything she deserves, she clearly picked her own home. By now, she, Pippa and Gigi are the best of friends and Moos is back to being completely healthy and happy! We only want the best for our cat-babies, and because of that we found out how difficult it is to find the right cat-sitter during vacations. This made me decide to register myself as a cat-sitter with Cat in a Flat. The feeling that I want the best for my own fur babies, is not any different for someone else’s, I feel a huge responsibility towards them and you as the owner. I’m simply crazy about those stubborn, unique little creatures, and in my opinion they always deserve the best love and care we can give them. I always let them come to me instead of going after them, and have experience with scared, apprehensive cats. In fact, our own Pippa used to be terrified due to an abusive past, and with help of a cat behavioural therapist and my own deepening into this subject we’ve managed to help her become the sweet, brave and happy kitty she is who doesn’t feel like she needs to hide from anyone anymore.

Whenever I’m invited to take care of someone’s beloved pet, I make sure to take my time and will do everything to make you happy and relaxed by sending you hundreds of pictures and videos, with also a written update. I’ll take care of the basics, such as feeding them, cleaning their water bowls and litter box(es), and give them medicine if necessary. Then it depends on the cat wether they like to play, cuddle or both, I’ll adapt in whichever way is preferred. If they love playing, I’ll be playing with them so much that afterwards they’ll sleep until my next visit, and never leave without a cuddle if the cat is into it. I always stay as long as possible, usually I stay for at least an hour, unless I truly can’t for whatever reason. If this is the case, I always communicate this. Transparency is what I find very important!
