Over Mij
Enjoy your holidays, I’m here!
My name is Blanca, and although I'm from the southeast of Spain, I love the cold! I studied Biology and have been teaching for the last six years.
When I was living in Spain I adopted Jazz, a beautiful and cuddly cat with a not so nice past, but who has been living happily and peacefully with me for the last eight years. Soon after I adopted Gumball, who couldn't be more different from Jazz: playful and very energetic. The two of them have accompanied me to Haarlem from Spain, and although they are indoor cats, they have a great time being cuddled by people through the windows and watching the birds fly. We have a play routine and I always try to enrich their environment in different ways to keep them active, as this is very important for their health.
As an expat, I have used this platform to find someone I trust to look after my furry babies when I need to go to Spain, so I understand the insecurity at the beginning and the vertigo of leaving part of your family with a stranger. I hope to make this process easier for you and that you can enjoy your holiday with peace of mind! I've also had hamsters!
As a cat person myself, I know that caring for a cat is not just about having a clean litter box and food every day. They need to play, cuddle and have someone to sniff and interact with. I also know that every cat has a different character, so some will want to play and get all the cuddles in the world while others not so much. Respecting their boundaries is also very important. Unfortunately, three years ago Gumball had bladder stones and it was a long and painful process for him, as he was catheterised for several days and needed medication for some time. This taught me to be alert to any symptoms and to give medication efficiently.
