I work part time and remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for your pets. This means I can easily fit house visits, walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and overnight stays into my daily routine. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so caring for them never feels like a chore. I am always happy to adapt to your pet's routine, personality, and individual needs to make sure they feel comfortable and well cared for while you're away.

At the moment, I can only offer care in your home. I am available for daily visits, multiple visits per day, dog walking, and overnight stays. I have a lot of patience and respect for animals and their boundaries. Every pet is different, and I always take the time to get to know them and adapt to their personality and needs. Some pets are very social and love attention, while others are shy, anxious, or simply prefer their own space. I am comfortable with both. I don't expect every pet to be cuddly or outgoing, and I understand that some animals feel most comfortable simply knowing that someone is there. If your pet needs time to warm up to a new person, I am happy to sit quietly, read, work, or simply keep them company. Whether they eventually decide to approach me or prefer to keep their distance, that's completely fine too. My priority is that they feel safe, comfortable, and respected. If you would like, I am also happy to meet you and your pet one or more times free of charge before a booking so we can get acquainted and make sure everyone feels comfortable before you leave.

Before looking after a pet, I like to know about their routine, personality, likes and dislikes, any medical conditions, and anything that helps them feel safe and comfortable. Every animal is different, and I find it important to understand their individual needs. I also appreciate knowing whether a pet is shy, nervous, reactive, or has any specific fears or triggers so I can adapt my approach accordingly. The more I know beforehand, the better I can make sure your pet feels relaxed, respected, and cared for while you're away.

Every pet is different, so I like to adapt to their personality and routine. With dogs, I enjoy going for walks, playing games, and spending time outdoors. With cats, I love cuddling, playing, and getting to know their unique personalities. I am also very happy to simply keep pets company. Some animals want lots of interaction, while others prefer a quieter presence, and I enjoy both. A long walk, a game of fetch, a toy mouse, a brushing session, or simply sitting together while they nap are all things I genuinely enjoy. My goal is always to make sure your pet feels happy, comfortable, and cared for.

Hello! I'm Mari and I live in The Hague. I love the beach, gardening, cooking, reading, being outdoors and, of course, animals! I have had cats and dogs all my life and have experience looking after both cats and dogs through Cat in a Flat and privately outside the platform. I have worked in animal shelters and cat cafés in the Netherlands and abroad and have experience caring for cats with different personalities and needs, including some that required extra (medical) attention. I offer house visits for cats and dogs, dog walking, and overnight stays. Besides cats and dogs, I also have a soft spot for horses, donkeys, goats, and chickens. Animals have always been a natural part of my life, and spending time with them never feels like work to me. I currently work remotely as a Gender and Climate Expert for an NGO, which gives me a flexible schedule. I speak Dutch, English, and German. When I look after your pet, I don't just come in to do the chores and leave again. Whether it's a cat who enjoys company, a dog who loves a long walk, or a shy pet who needs a bit of patience, I always take the time to make them feel comfortable, cared for, and loved.
