I can't take in other pets where I live, but I'm quite experienced at watching other peoples' pets in their homes. In order to earn and maintain your trust, I strive to give your pet(s) the best possible care and treat your home with respect and privacy. I'll have questions about your pet(s) and their usual habits, and I want to follow any rules you have in your home while affecting it as little as possible.

I've cared for chihuahuas, border collies, poodles, St. Bernards, mastiffs, labradors, and more. I'm open to all breeds. What I like to know about your pet includes any fears or preferences, food amount and schedule, favorite walking routes (for dogs), how they get along with other animals and people, favorite toys or treats, any health issues, and whatever YOU think I should know. I want to take the best care of your pet(s) and give them all the love I can.

I'll want to know what's normal for them. Do they like to sleep and be left alone? Is your dog a fast exercise walker or a laid back one who stops to smell everything? Do they like to play fetch, tug, or with a favorite toy? Are they afraid of anything in particular? Maybe your cat likes ear or belly rubs? I'll work to earn your pet's trust and give them the exercise, attention, and affection they need. And of course, I'm happy to share photos or videos.

I'm a lifelong cat-lover. When I was growing up, we lived in an apartment, and a cat across the courtyard would run across it to me for affection whenever I went outside. That started the family down a long road of pet ownership. I've had cats for most of the last 24 years, sat and cared for neighbors' and clients' cats, and volunteered with them at my local animal shelter for a few years. I now volunteer weekly at the Dierentehuis Den Bosch. I am newly arrived in Europe from the US. I'm both working to launch a small consulting business and applying to graduate school. In the meantime, I could use both some extra income and cat time. Finally, I am also on the autism spectrum, which seems to give me a special connection with non-human animals. With empathy, patience, and humility (treats don't hurt), I can usually win them over. I'm eager to meet you and your cat(s).

Jon was great with our two cats! He responded quickly to messages and gave us timely updates. You can tell that he really likes cats and knows how to approach and handle them.
Jon is a great cat sitter! We got pictures every day and our kitties were very relaxed and happy when we came home. We will definitely ask him to sit for them again.
Jon loves animals and is good with them. Growing up his family had dogs and cats. He has a beloved cat now. And he volunteers regularly at the Seattle Animal Shelter. Do yourself and your pet a favor and let Jon handle your pet sitting / dog walking / house-sitting needs!
