Kattenoppasser in Den Haag

Hello! I am a 21 year old girl studying Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. I am originally from Turkey and lived there for all my life before moving here. I have always loved animals, and always had pets growing up. I also have a cat back in Turkey, which I actually brought here a few years ago because I couldn't separate from her! Currently, I volunteer at an animal shelter (DOA) at the cat section.

One of the things that make me the happiest is to spend time with cats. I have a very deep emotional connection with my cat. She was my first cat and I can say that I saved her life several times. She became a mother a few years ago when I was 16 and I was part of every moment of this experience. She had many complications during birth, we ended up having to take her to the vet to get her a C-section. But in the end, she had three beautiful kittens. As she was very shaken up after the surgery, my mother and I had to feed and clean the kittens ourselves. We got so attached to one of the kittens that we couldn’t let him go. He became our second cat.

He was also very special to me, as I remember the first seconds of his life. He unfortunately had a genetic heart disease called HCM. He had to take his pills every day and there was no way to completely heal this disease. I took care of him for a few years and gave his medication, but then he unfortunately passed away.

Spending time with these two beautiful creatures gives me the best feelings in the world. Their love and affection is so pure and innocent. I value animals, especially cats, very, very much. This is why I think that I would be a great cat sitter, and you can count on me to take care of your cat(s) when you are away!
