Hi cat lovers,

I’m Merve, a 32-year-old woman originally from Türkiye. I moved to the Netherlands to pursue my PhD studies and currently live in Leiden.

Growing up in the capital of Türkiye, stray cats were always a part of my daily life. My family and I took care of several neighbourhood cats, giving them names, feeding them, showing them love, and taking them to the vet when needed. After each mating season, we often found baby kittens whose mothers had disappeared or passed away. I’ve had many experiences raising these little ones into healthy adult cats, and over the years, we ended up adopting a few of them as well.

Besides my family, many of my friends had cats too, and we would often help each other with cat-sitting. So as you can imagine, when I moved to the Netherlands, something felt missing in my life. Unfortunately, due to my current living situation, adopting a cat has not been possible. Now that I’ve found this community, I would love to offer my help with cat-sitting and finally enjoy the cuddly company of cats again.

I can give your cats fresh food and water, offer treats if agreed upon, clean their litter and living areas, and make sure everything is tidy. I can also take them to their vet, if necessary. I would love to spend some time with them, playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company depending on what they enjoy most, so that they feel happy and safe when you are away.
