Hi, I’m Rachel! I’m a 26-year-old Zoology Master's graduate from Ireland, now living in Amsterdam.

Cats have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up, my family went from the “one cat rule” to “the more, the merrier,” and I’ve been lucky enough to care for them ever since. Most recently, I had the joy of fostering a cat here in Amsterdam, helping her find her forever home. I also guided her new adopters on how to care for her and ensure a smooth transition, which was a deeply rewarding experience.

Before moving to Amsterdam, I took on multiple recurring bookings on Cat in a Flat in Belfast, where I had the pleasure of caring for people's cats regularly.

Since moving out of my family home, I’ve missed having a little fur baby to care for, and I’d love to offer my experience to cat owners in need of a reliable sitter while they’re away.

Beyond growing up with pets, I’ve volunteered in various animal care roles, giving me hands-on experience with a wide range of animals, from cats and dogs to guinea pigs, rabbits, birds, and even horses. So if you need someone to care for other small pets while you're away, just let me know!

When I visit your cat, my first priority is making sure they're comfortable and happy. I'll spend time checking their well-being before sending you regular photo updates to keep you in the loop. I'll handle all the essentials - feeding, watering, litter cleaning, and monitoring their habits - and will follow any specific requests you have for your kitty’s care. The rest of the time, you can count on me to spoil them with attention and affection, just like I would my own pets.

In addition to being cat crazy, I'm also a plant lover, so if you'd like me to care for your plants too while you're away, I’d be more than happy to help. I'll also stay on top of any kitty-related mess and can collect your post so you don’t have to worry about anything while you're gone.

Having owned cats myself and having experience fostering one here in Amsterdam, I know how stressful it can be to find someone trustworthy to care for your feline friend. That's why I offer a free initial meet-and-greet, so we can discuss your cat’s needs and routines and I can reassure you that they’re in safe hands. During this visit, I’ll also collect the key and make sure everything is arranged before you head off.
