Over Mij
Kattenoppasser in Amsterdam
I am an Australian researcher and editor who has been living in Amsterdam for two years (I'm able to make myself understood with Dutch-speaking cats, too). I have two beautiful, sassy, clingy, and elderly Siamese cross Birman kitties waiting for me in Australia. Luckily my parents are also nuts about cats, so they're in good hands, but I miss them dearly (Skype just isn't the same, you know?). Unable to adopt a cat here in Amsterdam, I have channelled my affection into houseplants, which is going well so far, except that they don't purr when you stroke them.
Because of my work, my schedule is very flexible and I spend a lot of time behind my laptop. Therefore, if you have a shy or needy cat, I'll usually be happy to spend some time in your flat doing my work and just 'being there' so your cat has ample time to decide whether or not they want a cuddle.
Thinking about this profile I realise that my friends are almost exclusively cat people, which explains why I've got some cat-and-housesitting experience back in Australia. The most notable experience was with the handsome and charming Burmese brothers Michelangelo and Leonardo, who insisted on sleeping not just on the bed, but in it, and who shared their property with a 2-metre python!
