Hey! My name is Claire and I have been born and raised in the city centre of busy Amsterdam (dus ik spreek ook Nederlands).

I really love cats (all animals in general, not me climbing on top of a roof to save a bee once) and always stop to give some extra attention to any cat I see, even when I'm cycling at topspeed. I'm 24 years old and studying (international) law at the University of Amsterdam.

I used to have two cats - brother and sister. The brother, wisdom in itself, had a heart condition so he received a medicine every day. In 2018, he passed away which left a big hole in my heart. In April this year, my other cat, a happy-go-lucky girl, also lost her fight with FIP a few months shy of turning 15.

Because of my cats, I know it can be hard sometimes if you need to be somewhere and you have to find someone to feed your babies, and especially if your cat(s) have special needs, it is stressful to count on others to do this correctly. So I hope I can help you with all of the ins and outs your cat needs!

I have a lot of experience cat sitting. Not only through Cat in a flat, but I have also watched a lot of my friends’ cats. My mom always calls me the “cat whisperer”, because even the most shy/“aggressive” cats warm up to me.

In short, I’d be happy to take care of your cats/other pets/plants. This includes administring medicine, and other special needs.

PS: if you prefer me to stay over, but it is NOT a necessity (e.g. you prefer if your cats are not alone at night/all day but they have no special needs) you can book normal price and tell me, and I can also house sit then for the "day price", but I cannot guarantee then that I will stay every night.

Because of working so much with cats but having cats myself too, I understand every cat is different - so tell me all about them! Some cats like to be pet a certain way, and others prefer not to be lifted up, or need extra treats. I love all cats so even the ones that are timid or cranky will eventually warm up to me - and I’ll try my best to make sure that’s on their terms :-)

Moreover: - I will send you videos and photos (maybe even a GIF here and there) of your kitty! Don't hesitate to tell me how many updates you want, it's totally okay if you don't want all these photos and videos and just need a break when away :) - I will give your kitty a lot of love. Because I love cats. - If you would like your cat to go to the vet, but you forgot to plan this before you went away - no worries, I can go for you. - Don't be hesitant to tell me any special things about your cat! If he/she doesn't like to be petted a certain way, is scared of umbrellas, or absolutely loves a particular toy - let me know!
