Hello! My name is Carla and I work as a freelance Archaeologist. I often travel for work but when I don't have projects, I am free to spend all my time as I please. With this freedom, I have been working also as a cat-sitter for quite some time. All my life I have lived with cats, dogs, and other animals in our family home. My deepest bond though has always been with cats, and I did my best to be around them as soon as I moved out of Italy. When I lived in the UK, I worked at a cat café in London called "Lady Dinah's Cat Emporium" for 2 years as a Cat Carer. With them, I learned to professionally look after cats, at business level especially, making sure therefore that all legal regulations were also fulfilled. At the same business, I also had the chance to attend a Pet FirstAid course, from which I also got a certificate. As a result of my working for this business, I also did some cat-sitting for privates that knew me through the café. Anyone that knows me will immediately describe me as the ultimate Cat Lady, and one can't help but notice that I am very attentive and respectful of any of the cats' behaviour, and that I get their trust by doing just that (plus a lot of playtime!). As a cat-sitter, I love focusing on playtime with them, as it's an area that is often overlooked to gain a cat's trust. Grooming can also be a deeply bonding experience, if the cat enjoys it and is trusting enough. I am not the kind of person who would expect a cat to sleep anywhere other than in the same bed with me, in fact I LOVE cuddling with cats at any point of the day but especially during sleepy time. However, while I have no boundaries when it comes to that, I am also deeply respectful of those of the cat. You can expect from me that I will spend more than the bare minimum time with your fur-baby, if I currently have no project going on, I am all in on cat-sitting!
